Teen Suspect Sought for Rape Attempt Near Bushwick-Ridgewood Border

Police are on the lookout for an individual who followed and attempted to rape a woman near the Brooklyn Queens border in Ridgewood in the early hours of Sunday, May 8th.

The incident occurred around 3am near the intersection of Seneca Avenue and Harman street, a block away from the borough border where it runs along Cypress Ave for a stretch of fifteen blocks between Flushing Ave and Grove Street.

According to the NYPD, the 26 year old victim was followed by the suspect, who threw her to the ground before attempting to rape her. The victim successfully fought her assailant off, at which point he fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black or hispanic teenager with a slim build who wearing a light colored hoodie, camouflage shorts, black sneakers and a backpack at the time of the assault.
