Star Trek Writer, Morgan Gendel, is Coming to a Meetup at Livestream Public, East Williamsburg

The future is now, kids! Okay, well actually it’s the present, but the future is always around the corner and everyone likes to try to have some foresight into what’s around the bend. Thankfully we don’t have to look all that far, because there’s the Brooklyn Futurist Meetup, in which members discuss what the world might look like in ten years plus!

Trust us, you don’t want to miss the next Brooklyn Futurist Meetup (on Thursday, April 23 at 7pm at Livestream Public) because it will be featuring the Hugo Award-winning screenwriter Morgan Gendel. You might recognize that name if you’re a devout fan of the Trek, I’m talking Star Trek y’all, as he will be using his fan-favorite episode “The Inner Light” from Star Trek: The Next Generation as a jumping off point to discuss the role of connecttome and what could happen whenever fiction becomes reality with the potential for connecttome hacks.

Brooklyn Futurist Meetup’s main goal is to explore trends with the potential to alter the world as we know it, or subjects that are at the least down-right interesting. As the name suggests, the majority of events are held within the confines of Brooklyn, but subject matters are not Brooklyn-focused.

Previous meetups have had subjects dealing with neuroscience, 3D printing, the future of oceans, mobile technology, to even the future of web privacy. Since they only meetup about 4-6 times per year, you really won’t want to miss out on THE FUTURE, you guys! If the future isn’t your deal, at least meet up with some creative visionaries of Brooklyn and mingle both before and after the presentation.

Now, make it so!

Brooklyn Futurist Meetup with Morgan Gendel:“This is your Brain on TV,” Thursday, April 23, at 7pm at Livestream Public (195 Morgan Ave), admission is $7 at the door.
