It seems like we’re always waiting for something to happen, for us to get somewhere, for us to be something. But last week’s Insta-Takeover asked, why rush? With an “Eventually I’ll be there”-themed week, guest photographer slash illustrator Jenny Mortsell captured those in-between moments all over Bushwick, and it was a poignant reminder that life truly is about the journey. Kids blurring by on bikes and scooters, a drawing half-finished, buildings under construction, and a sunset blanketing an entire block in fiery hues – when you see these photos, you won’t really care about the destination of the kids, the drawing, the buildings and the sun. You’ll just be glad that Jenny was there to photograph the moment in all its transitory glory.
Scroll down for some highlights from the week and if you like what you see, I guarantee you’ll dig the rest of her photos. You’ll be there, eventually. Why not enjoy the voyage?
