#BushwickDaily Insta-Takeover: Andrea Martinez Explores Shapes, John Hook Tracks “Change”

Let’s be honest: We’re sick and tired of the snow. We’re tired of the slush and the ice and wet socks (because even our most waterproof boots aren’t Polar Vortex-proof). Yet, there’s something incredibly beautiful about Bushwick in the winter. Last week Andrea Martinez set out to explore the neighborhood’s design and geometry, and her additions to Bushwick Daily’s Instagram page captured the amazing contrast between the cityscape’s hard lines and the soft curves of the snow. You’ve gotta see them.

Beginning yesterday, the Bushwick Daily Insta-Takeover continues with guest photographer John Hook, a two-year resident of Bushwick. John is a native of St. Louis who studied photography in college and now works in digital advertising at Conde Nast. He loves traveling all over the city on his bike, discovering new places and meeting new people, and documenting them with in his camera. His theme for the week is the the concept of “Change” in Bushwick, both of the physical and social kind.
