While looking at the L train’s service for this upcoming weekend I can hardly believe my eyes – the L train, according to mta.info’s The Weekender, will INDEED be running this weekend. Not only will it actually be running but there will be full service. (MTA do NOT change your mind about this please!) How lovely?
The only L train gripe this week is its really strange midday service change that will be happening today Wednesday, 11/20 until Friday, 11/22. Apparently, L trains will be running every 12 minutes between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Rockaway Pkwy:
11AM to 3PM, Wed to Fri, Nov 20-22
The last stop for alternate trains headed toward Rockaway Pkwy is Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.
Take a Canarsie-bound train or transfer at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs to continue your trip.
Although the L has itself sorted out this weekend – alas, it looks as if the L sent the M train a “this borough ain’t big enough for the both of us” memo as now the M train is experiencing some service interruptions this upcoming weekend. I guess the M was feeling a bit left out on Bushwick Daily.
So my friends, this week “M is for mediocre” since its service as of late has been mediocre at most:
The upcoming weekend 11/22-25 the M train will be completely MIA and not running at all. This service change will begin at 11:45PM on Friday and last until 5AM on Monday.
Apparently we will be experiencing this lack of the M train during the weekends until Dec. 9th (NOOOOO).
In place of the M train the MTA will offer free shuttle buses which will run between Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av making all station stops. So in other words, the shuttle bus will only bring you so far as to hop a transfer to the J or L. We shall remember this weekend as “the weekend of the transfers”.
Check mta.info for any last minute changes and, as always, Happy Riding!
