Weekly L Train Update: L Is for Lazy

Weekly L Train Update: L Is for Lazy

Oh, L train. Back on that September afternoon when I first heard of your laundry list of future service changes I have to admit that I never thought it would really last this long. Our rocky relationship has now spanned almost two months and we have been through it all – delays caused by track work, suspended service and you standing us up. Everyone keeps telling us we should leave you for the M or the J or even the sporadic B60, but we just can’t stop coming back to you.

Not unusually, the L train is being a bit complicated this weekend:

L trains run every 12 minutes between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Rockaway Pkwy from 7AM to 7PM this upcoming Saturday and Sunday, Nov 9-10.

The last stop for alternate trains headed toward Rockaway Pkwy is Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.

*Take a Canarsie-bound train or transfer at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs to continue your trip.

Then during weeknights of 11/11 – 11/15 the L train will become even lazier:

L train will operate every 24 minutes during weeknights of 11/11-11/15.

This service change is for inspections of the Canarsie tube to assess hurricane-related damage.

So there you have it – the L train being the L train. So if you are catching the L it would probably be a good idea to bring a book with you since it is being rather lazy lately and deciding to not show up on time. As always, check mta.info for any last minute service updates.

Happy Riding!
