Bushwick Daily would like to take this opportunity to remind you that Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, November 3rd at 2:00 a.m.–which means, on this end of the year, that we all get an extra hour of sleep (welcome news, we’re sure, for those of you who have a 7 a.m. alarm to wake up every morning, when it has been increasingly darker every day–then again, you can expect it get dark a whole lot earlier after we pass the DST mark, so we hope you didn’t like leaving work before nightfall, 9-5ers)!
Our early morning breakfast rec, in case you can’t sleep in, is Athom Cafe on Broadway: they open at 6:30 a.m., they’re right underneath the J if you have somewhere to be, and they’ll be able to supply you with lots of fresh-based traditional french pastries (go for the croissants!)–and if you want to stay out late that night at, say, Tandem or The Rookery, be sure to get there earlier than usual. That darn Sunday night liquor curfew still applies.
And finally, remember to change the few clocks in your life that aren’t digitized. The clocks on most computers and cellular telephones will change by themselves–but make sure you get your microwave clock changed before you end up behind an hour at a critical moment!
Here’s to the (albeit temporary) extra hour!
