Excellent Full Moon Fest is Coming to Bushwick’s Brooklyn Mirage on August 1

It’s the summer music festival season–and Bushwick is getting some love as well. After four years on Governors Island, the Full Moon music festival is making its Bushwick debut at the recently unveiled, jaw-dropping warehouse and outdoor palm tree venue–Brooklyn Mirage (99 Scott Ave). With an amazing bill, the festival of love is happening for one day only–on Saturday, on August 1.

On the bill…

On the bill is a roster of 15 international and Brooklyn bands including French electro-pop group Yelle, German DJ Tensnake, PillowTalk, and hometown boys MOTHXR — with lead singer, Gossip Girl star and (possibly still) a Bushwick resident, Penn Badgely, natch.

Tropical plants and beach sand imported from the South of France

Drawing inspiration from the beach parties celebrating the full moon in Haad Rin on the island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand, the setup for Full Moon Fest is going full-on tropical: 20-foot living walls, tropical plants and beach sand imported from the South of France. (Not to mention panoramic views of Manhattan.)

Foodies rejoice!

In addition to the stellar lineup, the festival is collaborating with food vendors like Carnal, who’ll be serving mammoth slabs of charred meat to hungry festival-goers. Other vendors include Mile End/Black Seed (bagels), La Crepe (crepes), Uma Temakeria (sushi) , Battery Harris (Caribbean), Northern Tiger (Chinese + dumplings), and Tacombi (Mexican).

While originally planned to return to Governors Island, the festival’s curators, MATTE Projects, decided that moving to Brooklyn Mirage made sense in order to accommodate the growing festival. And we couldn’t be happier about that.

Full Moon Fest runs from 3pm until midnight on August 1 at the pop-up space Brooklyn Mirage (99 Scott Ave); tickets from $70. Please note the festival is 21 and over. Tickets available here.
