Last summer, Bushwick Daily had a blast covering the 4Knots Festival, an event we deemed both “sweaty” and “awesome,” which is always a spectacular combo… This year, we’re ready for another hot mess of a good time, and it’s all going down this weekend! Before you hit the Seaport on Saturday, read on and find out which bands you just can’t miss at 4Knots 2014.
Last year’s 4Knots lineup was pretty rad– Kurt Vile, Parquet Courts, White Lung, Marnie Stern, and more graced the sweltering stage– but this year’s a real doozy. Headlining the free, all-day affair is Dinosaur Jr, right alongside everyone’s favorite weirdo songwriter, Mac DeMarco.
As if those two names weren’t big enough, 4Knots has also got alt-grunge superstars Speedy Ortiz, country rockers Those Darlins, plus punks like Viet Cong and Radkey on its impressive bill. Repping our favorite borough of Brooklyn will be local artists Dead Stars, Juan Wauters, and Nude Beach. Word! Not too mention all the yummy snacks, photobooths, free giveaways, and chill, nautical vibes your heart could desire.
So, there you have it– the full 4Knots lineup in all its glory. Don your best sailor cap and we’ll see you there! It all goes down on Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, starting at 1pm, this Saturday, July 12. Stay tuned for our post-event coverage with pics, a playlist, and much more.
