JUST FABULOUS!!!!!: Top Ten Music Shows This Weekend

Get ready, because this weekend is about to get fabulous! We have 10 ass-kicking shows for you to choose from for an enhanced musical weekend experience. Free shows galore, rock, brass, pop, and soul are also all represented. Go!

#10 Le Rug, The Dirty Nil, Weird Womb, Phone Home @ Shea Stadium (THU 9PM, $8)

This show will be a little weird, a little loud, and a lot awesome. Le Rug compares their sound to “Post-Punk, Early Built To Spill, Nintendo,” if that’s any indication of the way the night might shape up.

#9 Suuns, Azar Swan, Bennio Qwerty, The Flag @ Death By Audio (FRI 8PM, $10)

Suuns, the Montreal-based “krautrock” band, are way too famous to be playing Death By Audio. This is why you should try as hard as you can to get into this show.

#8 Wild Yaks, Art Decade, Jayh @ Union Pool (THU 9PM, $8)

JUST FABULOUS!!!!!: Top Ten Music Shows This Weekend

We’re so happy we can have free pizza at a free show at a super cool Greenpoint haunt, Lulu’s, with Pow Wow! and the super busy (apparently) Spirit Kid. Rock n Roll!

A free show from soulful indie Bushwick- famed dame and gent duo Widowspeak, along with excellent support from another fave, Ponyhof!

#3 Mt. Royal, Brazos, Incan Abraham, My Body @ Brooklyn Bowl (SUN 8PM, FREE with RSVP)

The above video is a loud and clear indication of the epic potential of Baltimore band Mt Royal (kinda like a jazzier version of Heartless Bastards), then sign us up. Literally– the show is free for those who RSVP, so do it.

#2 Kid Tested , Spirit Kid, Quiet Loudly @ Fort Useless (SUN 7:30PM, $6)

Fort Useless is  great, and their Sunday night concerts rock get us going. This Sunday we’ll be graced with tunes from Kid Tested, Spirit Kid (a lotta kids here) and our personal face, the power-softrock Quiet Loudly with their gorgeous sounds.

#1 Hypnotic Brass Ensemble @ Knitting Factory (SAT 12 am, $10)
