This week Listening Party highlights a feel-good rocker, Mikal Cronin, who is playing a free high-profile gig next week at MoMA. Born of the Orange Country Sound sound, like fellow rockers Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees,  Cronin brings a fresh, sunny, fuzzy take on punk rock, infusing it with earnestness. The perfect soundtrack for a house party; just check out his music video for single “Change” below….

HE SAYS:  “It all makes total sense to me, but when I step back, it sounds kind of schizophrenic,” Cronin says. “Hopefully it all sounds enough like me to make sense.”

The show next Thursday will be one of Cronin’s more decadent shows (he usually plays and punk venues like Brooklyn’s own Death By Audio), but the museum’s wide-open sculpture garden will suit his reverb (and our moshing) all the better. See you there!
