Are you ready for the ultimate self-care Sunday? HotBox, New York’s first mobile sauna currently parked at Nowadays, is offering a guided meditation after your schvitz session this Sunday, December 9th.

This ultimate relaxation session will begin with 45 minutes in a wood-burning sauna that seats 8-10 people, kept at a toasty 180 degrees. Once you sweat out the winter blues, hop outside into a private backyard for a cool contrast shower and a fire pit to keep warm in between rounds.

After the sauna session is over, you will be invited to join a 30 minute guided mindfulness meditation in a heated yurt, bedecked with Moroccan pillows and blankets. The guided meditation will include seated stretches and breath focused movement to complete your experience. The last 15 minutes will be for you to rest and hydrate as you gradually end your session and are fully restored. The owners of HotBox promise a tranquil experience in an intimate and safe setting, open to all people in a positive space for self-care.

The meditation will be lead by Jodi Epstein, a New York City based yoga and meditation teacher. Epstein leads workshops, retreats and training in the NY metro area. She has over 10 years of experience and offers classes in Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Meditation and more, all offered in a variety of difficulty levels.

“The quest for understanding and embodying the connection between mind, body and presence is yours, but you’re not alone,” Epstein said. “As a resource, as a teacher, I am at your service. And I am practicing with you.”

There will be two sessions on December 9th, first will be from 12.30pm to 2pm and the second will be from 1.30pm to 3pm. Book your session here!

Don’t forget that after your session you can enjoy the winterized backyard of Nowadays! Grab a hot toddy or mexican hot chocolate and enjoy the cozy fire pits.

Can’t make it? Join HotBox for their next Sweat Sanctuary party on Sunday December 16th from 4pm-8pm at Nowadays. Sweat Sanctuary is a queer friendly schvitzing session for women, queer womxn, trans and non-binary people. This session is a safe, body-positive and accepting experience, and is offered at a reduced rate for accessibility, RSVP here!

HotBox always includes bench towels, a changing area, and water. You can rent a robe for three bucks. Make sure to bring your bathing suit and flip flops for easier access to all the amenities. Complete your winter with these mindful experiences, as you’ll never feel so happy to reward your body with these relaxing sessions!
