JMZ Walls has organized a fundraiser tomorrow for the people of Puerto Rico who have lost their homes, belongings, and electricity in Hurricane Maria

The event begins Saturday at 12 p.m. with a bag drop-off at Gallery Bar at 1056 Broadway in Bushwick, and then a three-mile “art run” at 12:30 to see JMZ Walls, murals curated by an independent group of Bushwick residents on spaces throughout the community.

JMZ Walls will feature live mural painting during the fundraiser, with all donations going to the fire department’s engine 218.

Here’s what you can donate:

»$10

»water bottles

»non-perishable food and baby food

»diapers/ wipes

»feminine care products

»flashlights and batteries

»water purifying tablets

»first aid and basic medicines

»basic hygiene supplies

Gabriella Zacarias and her dad Luis have planned the event and set up a Go Fund Me page to raise their goal of $10,000. Gabriella will taking the supplies in person to Arecibo, Caguas, and other surrounding areas in Puerto Rico that have been affected by Hurricane Maria, one of the most intense Atlantic storms on record.

So bring your running gear, a small donation, and hit the streets to show support for Puerto Rico!
