For the third year in a row, a classic, family friendly celebration is coming to Bushwick’s Irving Square Park this Saturday, December 10, when the park’s dedicated volunteer group hosts its annual Winter Celebration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Stop by the square to enjoy performances by youth participating in the Ballroom Basix dance program, beloved local jazz master L.A. Blacksmith, DJ Carlos Soto and Chanteuse Pamela Fernandez, and a tree lighting ceremony—and event sources suggest that a certain beloved jolly old elf may have plans to swing by the party, too!
The park will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the occasion with assistance from the art students of Knickerbocker Avenue elementary school P.S. 151, who made decorations, and local film production company Broadway Stages, which has contributed 16 large snowflakes that will hang from the park’s lamp posts.
Cupcakes by Angela’s Bakery, hot chocolate served by Halsey Street market Los Limones, coffe courtesy of Routine Bushwick and candy canes provided by Nina Keaneally, Bushwick’s Mom, will be on hand to satisfy sweet teeth and keep everyone cozy.
Happy holidays, Bushwick—enjoy the festivities!
