Senate hopeful and Bushwick local Julia Salazar has continued to bring in even more endorsements this summer.

She has the support of high profile candidates like Cynthia Nixon and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but other groups have taken notice as well. She was recently endorsed by Councilwoman Carlina Rivera, who represents the 2nd district of New York.

Salazar was also recently endorsed by grassroots group The Jewish Vote alongside Jumaane Williams this July. It’s the sister organization of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, a group that Julia Salazar has organized with in the past.

“It is exciting to be a part of turning the progressive power we have built together through legislative campaigns and direct action into votes for candidates that will bring the concerns of our communities into elected offices across the state,” said Salazar through a press released about the endorsement.

Other local endorsements have included Make the Road Action, Antonio Reynoso and Nydia Velásquez

Bushwick Daily will continue to follow local campaigns leading up to the midterm elections this fall. If there are any ideas or tips for midterm coverage, feel free to reach out to us.
