40+ Vendors Serving Sexy, Audacious Food Will Exhibit at the First Ever Food Porn Festival

How many hours a day would you say you spend thinking about food?

If your answer (or that of one of your foodie friend’s) is “a LOT,” mark your calendars for November 5 and 6, when Shwick Market’s FoodPornFest will bring more than 40 local culinary enterprises to a Johnson Avenue venue to feed the public weird, delicious treats.

Entertainment, including music and local comedy acts, is scheduled throughout the event, so it’ll be sort of like going on a date with, some really cute food (awww!).

Brooklyn’s first annual foodie fest will last from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday giving you ample time to sample all of the luscious offerings and hashtag the crap out of all of your sensuous Instagram photos, Bushwick!

LET’S TALK ABOUT FOOD, BABY:

FoodPornFest’s organizers invite the public to savor some really, really ridiculously good-looking eats, which run the gamut “from BBQ to burgers [and] fried mac & cheese to fried ice cream.”

Like a lot of us (probably all of us), event co-creator Christoper Carew is drawn to “drool-worthy” images of food. He admits that some of the vendors slated for FoodPornFest were stumbled upon while sifting through Instagram.

Hosting a food centered event, however, was always on the table for Shwick: “We [Shwick] love food!”, Carew delightedly proclaims.

Carew was surprised to learn that the fest’s buzzworthy name wasn’t already in use anywhere nearby. “I looked, and only found one FoodPornFest, but it was in like Australia, or somewhere on the other side of the planet, so we said ‘Let’s do it!’”

The organizers are already aiming for another FoodPornFest come Spring, and Carew is hoping to make FoodPornFest a regularly bi-annual celebration. “There’s nothing that I’m not looking forward to eating [at FoodPornFest],” he says.

Take a look through the lineup below!

Island Pops: Orange bitters and lemon nutmeg cookie ice cream are among this company’s heavy hitting offerings.
