Dark smoke filled the sky over north Brooklyn and Queens just before sunset on Sunday as firefighters responded to a 5-alarm fire that, at press time, had already consumed 3 residences and an extension on a church on Arlington Ave in Cypress Hills, the FDNY tells Bushwick Daily.

The fire originated at 270 Arlington Ave between Elton street and Linwood street, and was first reported to the FDNY shortly before 6:30pm.
