If you work in fashion (and since you’re a Bushwick resident chances are you do), September was a crazy, hectic, and exciting month for you thanks to New York Fashion Week. And if you’re really, really good, the fashion week craziness likely continues until tomorrow because you’re at Paris Fashion Week right now.

One Bushwick-based hair coloring salon has been enjoying their involvement in both of the fashion weeks. First in New York, Chelsey Pickthorn of Pickthorn Salon, based at an unassuming Bushwick corner of 61 Wyckoff Ave, fulfilled her craziest career dreams. She got hired by Givenchy to do hair color transformation of four Riccardo Tisci muses — Leela Goldkuhl, Kris Gottschalk, Letícia Altenbernd and Giedre Kiaulėnaitė. “To be a part of their first New York show celebrating Riccardo Tisci’s 10 years with them is something I will never forget,” told us Chelsey. “All of the models/muses that came to Bushwick for their color transformations were all such a delight, a great representation of the lead designer and brand.”

Givenchy’s 9/11 fashion show was called spectacular, gorgeous, super-fashion-y, and oddly powerful nigh by NY Magazine, and truly a night to remember for Pickthorn.

After NYFW, Chelsey Pickthorn didn’t rest but instead transformed the look of Bushwick-based model, Julia Cumming, who is not only our neighbor, and a part of a three-piece rock band Sunflower Bean, but also an exclusive model for Yves Saint Laurent.  Julia walked the Saint Laurent show in Paris last night and her new, very Bushwick, lilac dye job was said to turn heads. “Underneath her sparkly tiara, Cumming’s signature blunt, choppy bob looked as cool as ever—a little punk, a little retro—but her platinum strands were awash in a brand-new, muted shade of mauve,” Vogue wrote last night.
