Tryin’ to Smash Before V-Day?

Valentine’s Day can be stressful for even the most romantic among us. The pressure of creating a special night with your partner or the constant reminders of a missing love connection really grinds my gears. However, whether you’re unlucky in love or just want to change things up, Dromedary Urban Tiki Bar might have a solution for you.

The neighborhood tiki bar is hosting a Super Smash Bros tournament on Feb. 13, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., complete with commentators and prizes. This isn’t your normal smash tournament, as drinking rules are in effect and (loosely) enforced. Competitors are required to drink after deaths, suicides and final smashes.

According to the Facebook event, the tournament will kick off with eight rounds of team matches. The first-place competitors from the initial rounds will then face off in two additional team rounds. Then the winners of these rounds will advance to the finals where they face off in a winner-takes-all battle.

Prizes for Wednesday’s tournament include a 2019 Passport to Bushwick, a bar tab at Dromedary Urban Tiki Bar and Nintendo Amiibos for the most enthusiastic crowd members.

The hosts of Wednesday’s tournament are three comedians who collectively go by the moniker, Super Trashed Bros. The comedians Jesse McGrath, Seamus Calder, and Brandon Garner, keep the night on track and commentate games by providing technical insight, plenty of trash talk and making sure the drinking continues.

The night is all livestreamed on the Super Trashed Bros twitch channel.

Full event details can be found on Dromedary Facebook Page.
