Central Ave’s Newest Joint, Fine Time, Is Hosting a Grand Opening Party Tomorrow

A few months ago, Bushwick Daily reported that Central Station, long time neighborhood fave and sorely missed vendor of hot wings (RIP), was closing its doors.

But, where there are ashes, a phoenix must rise; we’re happy to report that Fine Time, a bar that oozes comfort and divey charm, is opening at the same address (84 Central Ave.), and the bar’s grand opening is this Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. 

“Fine Time is a welcoming, inviting neighborhood bar. Right down to the name: Fine Time doesn’t take itself too seriously,” said the bar’s co-owner Casey Spindler, who also co-owns Bushwick’s romantic wine bar The Evergreen. “It’s a place where people can unwind and maybe even unplug for a bit and be in each other’s company.”

Fine Time may technically be a dive, but the atmosphere is anything but uninviting. The joint’s enormous back yard is landscaped gorgeously and features a mural from Bushwick artist J. Holtz. “In that same spirit of community, my partners and I are interested in supporting local artists,” Spindler continued. “I’d also like to dedicate some space inside the bar for local art and incorporate local music into our playlists.” 

For its grand opening this Wednesday, August 2, Fine Time will debut its stacked list of drafts and cocktails, at happy hour prices all night– including $2 off their newly-revealed frozen margaritas and painkillers. Oh, and free pizza (as if you needed one more reason to attend). 

Fine Time is open every day unil 4 a.m. Happy hour is $1 off everything and $2 off frozen drinks. Pitchers of Bud Light are always $12. And even though Fine Time’s kitchen isn’t officially in operation, we’re assured the bar is going to serve up a decadent menu of late night eats with a focus on sausage and fries. Ah, the simple things.
