Honestly, The Rookery (which has been under construction for simply too long), has been filling us with great expectations for some time now. Located at an undoubtedly very hot block to be, at 425 Troutman St. between Wyckoff Ave and St. Nicholas, The Rookery promises to combine “a brilliant pub grub with a lovely garden, sterling cocktails and a great wine list,” informs their Facebook page. The Rookery has “two beer engines delivering local cask ales, as well as a wide selection of draught and bottled beer. The owners bring their unique blend of British and West Indian cultures to this corner of Brooklyn.”
And so we were very excited to hear that The Rookery launches tonight at 5PM. The owner Jamie Schmitz told us on the phone that tonight’s launch will be sort of “an abbreviated party before the grand opening in a couple of weeks.” The food will be served until 11PM, and the drinks until 4AM. From tonight on, The Rookery will commence its regular daily operation “hopefully forever,” told us Jamie laughing.
See you there tonight!
