Promoter elrow, is hosting an insane 10 hour music party featuring sets by international superstars at Brooklyn Mirage on July 28th.
The event is Rowlympics themed, which combines the spirit of ancient Rome and the Olympics. Performers interact with guests, who become actors in the story and are integrated into a psychedelic circus environment and vibrant atmosphere unlike any other. It’s been described by media (RBMA) as “a cross between Cirque du Soleil and Burning Man.”
Under the sun and the stars, this rare musical fiesta features 10 hours of back-to-back sets by international superstars. The dusk-to-dawn games commence at 6:30 p.m. taking New Yorkers on a musical marathon until 4:30 a.m. at East Williamburg’s Brooklyn Mirage.
elrow describes it as such: “Emperors to the right of you. Gladiators to the left. Before you, goddesses. Behind you, wizards. All around you, characters that seem to have tumbled through a looking glass from a magical parallel plane. Weddings, bull fights, acrobats on bungee cords, chariots and gondolas gliding across the sky, jugglers, jocks, vikings and pirates.”
For Rowlympics, elrow will be transporting guests to the year 50 AC to a tiny hamlet in a place called elrowia that was occupied by the Romans. Inhabited by irrepressible hedonists, the hamlet uses a magic potion to makes itself invincible.
In a gesture of peace, the frustrated Romans invite them to their Rowlympic Games where athletes and “barbarows” joyfully compete to see who gets to be the greatest party athlete of all.
Guiding them in this large than life, multisensory quest are musical superstars playing the most uplifting and forward-thinking house music in back-to-back sets: Berlin’s jacking house master, Santé; Miami’s fiery ghetto-bass new school leader, Jesse Perez; Bristol England’s “bearded and cuddly” purveyor of 2016’s “Booty Percolatin’” and Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird kin, Will Clarke.
Other artists include DJ Mag’s “Best British DJ” and Resident Advisor’s Top 15 ranker, Eats Everything; Ibiza essential Marc Maya; U.K.’s Coachella and Ultra superstar, Patrick Topping; England’s Mixmag “Future Hero” Denney; Berghain regular and Sino Records head honcho and tastemaker, Technasia; Brooklyn’s favorite high energy DJ duo, Timothy Monkiewicz and Thomas Murphy aka The Golden Pony.
