We can all agree that 2016 has been weird. Now that those awkward Thanksgiving family dinners are behind us, some welcome end-of-year celebrating can begin.
By now, you’ve probably RSVP’d to at least one work-related holiday party—so why not keep the festivities going by attending some of the area’s upcoming parties?
Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Festivus, join your neighbors for some extra holiday cheer at these local events!
Deck the halls with whiskey and share a cocktail (or seven) with your friends over at The Narrows on December 15th. Word on the street is that there will be a special drink brewed up for the occasion… More info here.
2. Krampusfest – Bushwick’s Anti-Christmas Party
Don’t believe in jolly ol’ Saint Nick? Head over to Catland Books on December 16th for a unique take on an alternate tradition, involving sacred rituals, a bonfire and a special fire performance. Sip your hexed cider while you groove to the sounds of live music at this one-of-a-kind party. Entry is $15 – RSVP here.
3. Cobra Club Holiday Party 2016
Santa will be paying us an early visit this year. Take a photo with the one and only, belt your rendition of Jingle All the Way in the karaoke room and veg out on vegan cupcakes in between cocktails. Festivities will take place on December 17th – more info here.
4. Dirty Thursday: Holiday Office Party
You don’t need a building badge to get into this party. On December 22nd, grab your co-worker and your glitter and continue celebrating the anticipated holiday break without HR getting involved. Disposable cameras will be provided to capture all of the inappropriateness without the fear of accidentally uploading to Instagram. RSVP here.
If you’re sick of the conventional holiday party, come by The Well on December 22nd for a special “Best of 2016” burlesque show. See the sparkly silver lining and dance along to DJ Ayana Soyini. Tickets are $10, with a $5 performer discount at the door. Tickets available here.
6. Party for Women in Need NYC at Montana’s Trailhouse
Head over to Montana’s Trailhouse on Friday, December 16 to raise a glass to Women in Need NYC. $1 from the sale of every Budweiser beer or Fernet-Branca cocktail sold will go to the organization, and DJs Josh Styles, Avi Spivak and Kristine Barilli will be keeping the dance floor hot all night long.
Season’s greetings, Bushwick!
Are you throwing a shindig you’d like to invite Bushwick to? Email the details to emilie at bushwick daily dot com and we’ll add it to our piece!
