Mama O’s Sixth Annual KimchiPalooza Comes to Arrogant Swine on Sunday

Strut your affinity for spice this weekend at Arrogant Swine to celebrate “Brooklyn’s favorite spicy topping” at Mama O’s 6th annual KimchiPalooza on Sunday, August 21. The event will feature a make your own kimchi station, live music, Carolina-style BBQ, and Mama O’s famous (or infamous?) Super Spicy Kimchi Eating Contest. It’s gonna be hot.

Mama O’s makes seven different types of kimchi: OG, Vegan, Super Spicy, Daikon, Baby Bok Choy, Oi, and White. Each type is all natural, anti-inflammatory, and filled with probiotics. Kheedim Oh of Mama O’s notes there will be “free samples all day to go with the delicious a la carte BBQ.”

Anyone who thinks they have an iron stomach can prove it by going head to head with nine other competitors to see who can eat the most ghost pepper laden kimchi in three minutes. Oh divulged to Bushwick Daily that “last year the winner ate almost half a gallon,” which should be enough to behoove any potential competitors to start training. Sign up is at 2 p.m. on the day of the event and is limited to the first ten people!

Also in partnership with Color Me Live, Oh is stoked to announce that there will be live music at KimchiPalooza: Shinobi Ninja (5:15), The Boobies (6:15), Spritzer (7), Fruit & Flowers (7:45), and various DJs (8:30-late).

Get your butts to Arrogant Swine this Sunday, kimchi aficionados of Bushwick!
