For over 14 years, Honolulu-born photographer Dane Shitagi has been photographing ballet dancers unlike any other dance photographer before him. Dane photographs his ballerinas, many of which are soloists for prestigious dance companies, virtually everywhere–except on a stage. Beautiful ballerinas are often presented in urban environments such as nearby a highly trafficked road in New York City, Downtown L.A. or at Rue de Rivoli in Paris.
