We’re Launching a (Mildly Scandalous) Book of Stories About Bushwick on July 15!

We have indicated before (with a wink and a big smiley face) that we’ve been up to some really really cool stuff lately. Together with small urban press Catopolis, we’re publishing our first book! Bushwick Nightz is a collection of 12 stories and Bushwick plays the main character in all of them. From drug deals, to gallery shows, drinking, sex, Zagat-rated meals, gentrification and trying to figure it all out, we promise that Bushwick Nightz is a book you won’t put down until you read it all! A rollercoaster of emotion and a perfect little time capsule of the neighborhood right now, Bushwick Nightz is a brain child of one of our editors, Dallas Athent who is a published novelist herself and the founder at Catopolis. Dallas has selected 10 authors whose take on Bushwick is very different from one another. Some have been born here, some have just moved here, the only connecting line is the visceral character of the stories and… did we mention Bushwick?

So this book-baby is being born on July 15 when several awesome bookstores will officially start selling it, and it will be available on Amazon as well. If you want to meet the authors, Dallas herself, (a ton of Bushwick Daily people), and your neighbors, you are invited to the official Bushwick Nightz Book Launch on Thursday, July 17 from 8pm at Lot 45. Come early for a discussion moderated by Eric Silver and a reading of three stories from the book (Dallas Athent, Prospero Vega, and John Jarzemsky). Stay longer for dancing and social mixer while the beautiful DJ Khadija Bhuiyan will spin some house dance tones.

So seriously, we need to see you at Lot 45 next Thursday. The admission is free but we strongly encourage you to buy the book! Furthermore, we have a limited number of FREE champagne glasses to give away to everyone who buys a book! RSVP on Facebook!

PS: Dress to impress!
