How the time flies! It’s already halfway through May, meaning that #BOS2014 is just around the corner! If you haven’t peeked out the window yet, it appears we are looking at a fairly soggy Friday. It’s calling for a 100% chance of rain all day so don’t miss out on this great excuse to stay in bed and read up on the best that Arts in Bushwick has to offer!
The 2014 Arts in Bushwick Benefit was a huge success! The Next Great Whoever recaps the night for those who missed the festivities.
Did you know that all rainwater run-off flows to the NYC sewer, overwhelming the system with as much as 27 billion gallons of water that flood neighborhoods and waterways with sewer water? No? We didn’t either until the Art of Rain Barrels got us up to speed on on recent activity at the Halsey Street Dreamway. Be sure to check out this great outdoor community space during Bushwick Open Studios!
Get the scoop on Silent Barn, one of BOS2014 official HUBS, where experimentation is the name of the game. Resident ‘chefs’ are sure to be cookin’ up something good for BOS, so be sure to stay tuned!
Honoring your mother, and motherhood in general, is more important than the one Sunday assigned to it a year. In this spirit, Life on Mars is celebrating with Motherlove, a one-night only benefit for Every Mother Counts, a nonprofit organization that is committed to ending preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth worldwide. Show your love this Wednesday, May 21, from 6-9pm <3
