Conscious Art Festival to Inspire Change Is Tonight

On Friday from 6PM to 2AM Conscious Arts Festival, an arts festival with the purpose to inspire change, will take place at Brooklyn Fire Proof East. Not only will there be a conscious art exhibition from over fifteen artists of all mediums, but there will also be live music between the hours of 8PM and 11PM and various documentaries will also be shown. These documentaries include Jean Marie Offenbacher’s documentary short, which focuses on pre-conflict life in Syria entitled “Tea on the Axis of Evil,” and “My Tribe is Kenya,” a short documentary on Joel Bergner’s mural project with children and artists in one of Africa’s largest slums.

Conscious Arts Festival admission is a suggested donation of $5 to $10, which will benefit Give Kids Your Instruments Because They’ll Play Them, an organization that gathers donated instruments and matches them to kids in the Bed-Stuy area who are interested in learning and playing music. So, come out to Brooklyn Fireproof tonight – have a drink, take in some art and be inspired!
