What’s been going on at 3rd Ward lately? Well, it looks like they’ll be spreading the Brooklyn word to our Philly counterparts. Last year they secured a coworking and teaching space in Philadelphia’s South Kensington neighborhood. This month they will open the space, which is was once a church and later a factory and comes in at a whopping 27,000 square feet. Their curriculum will feature culinary, arts, technology, and crafts classes. We’re excited to hear more about how 3rd Ward will settle in PA!
Their new space is three stories high and includes a deck and green roof. Within the facilities there are several labs, including a textile lab, a media classroom, and a jewelery studio. Sounds a lot like 3rd Ward’s space here in Brooklyn, which features a metal shop and wood shop too. One addition to the Philadelphia location will be a full-service restaurant. We bet that’ll be full of interesting and healthy local dishes! Read more about their new location here and catch up on some of 3rd Ward’s new class offerings here in Brooklyn.
