The Bushwick Starr has hit its $25,000 fundraising goal for its Education + Community programs, the theater announced in an email to supporters on July 1.
The monthlong June campaign raised money to cover teaching artist salaries, classroom supplies, and field trips, according to the theater’s emails. The Starr, based at 419 Eldert Street in Bushwick, runs education programs for people ages 9 to 90.
The campaign ended with Senior Storytelling, the theater’s bilingual theater and creative writing program for older adults in Bushwick and Ridgewood. The Starr said it is celebrating the end of the campaign with highlights from this June’s Senior Storytelling culminating performance.
In the same announcement, the Starr introduced its 2026-27 season, which will feature new works by Layla Khoshnoudi, Amando Houser and Kedian Keohan, and Tei Blow, alongside its ongoing Education and Community programs, new work development, and annual events.
