Transportation Alternatives’ North Brooklyn Committee was out in Bushwick last weekend, talking to residents about a campaign to make street crossings near Maria Hernandez Park safer, according to a post the organization shared on X.
The committee collected 50 responses from community members during the outreach, according to the post. Transportation Alternatives did not specify which crossings or what changes the group is asking the city to make.
Maria Hernandez Park runs along Knickerbocker Avenue between Starr and Suydam Streets and is the largest green space in central Bushwick. Transportation Alternatives is a New York City nonprofit that advocates for pedestrian safety and bike infrastructure.
