Bushwick artists are adapting to the widespread cancellation of all shows by putting on their own virtual showcases

Best Virtual Shows Happening This Weekend

Tom Gallo is the host of Look At My Records! on Radio Free Brooklyn.

It seems hard to believe, but the Coronavirus outbreak has unfortunately resulted in the cancellation of all shows in Bushwick for the foreseeable future.  In the face of this unprecedented pandemic, bands and artists have adapted, streaming technology to perform virtually from the comfort of their own homes.  These virtual gigs are catching on! Here are a few of the best ones happening this weekend:

Thursday, March 26th

Exploding In Sound Records Live From Home, 6 p.m.

Exploding In Sound Records is putting on a virtual show via Instagram on Thursday, and the lineup is stacked! The lineup features several Bushwick-area artists including Dan Francia, Anna Altman, Water From Your Eyes, Bethlehem Steel, and Maneka. Don’t miss Shell Of A Shell, who just released an excellent new album entitled Away Team.

Friday, March 27th

Bandits On The Run, 7 p.m.

Bushwick-based trio Bandits On The Run were scheduled to play at The Kennedy Center on Friday night, but the current pandemic, unfortunately, resulted in the cancellation of this high profile performance. The band is making the best of their canceled tour, as they’ll be streaming a special performance from the cabin they’re currently shacked up in down in North Carolina. Though a dress code won’t be strictly enforced, they’ll be wearing formal attire and they encourage attendees to do the same!

Saturday, March 28th

Artflow: Feyer, 8 p.m.

Multi-instrumentalist Feyer will be performing a live set on Saturday at 8 pm for Artflow. The indie electronic artist released his most recent single, the super groove-able “Parties,” in May of last year.  The recently revived Artflow will feature daily live-streamed performances from artists every day at 6 pm, with additional performances at 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Pancakes & Whiskey: Virtual Happy Hour Showcase, 4 p.m.

Pancakes & Whiskey are curating an incredible lineup of mostly Brooklyn based artists for their Virtual Happy Hour Showcase.  The showcase includes some of our favorite artists, including HNRY FLWR, Adeline, HIGH WAISTED, Pom Pom Squad, Arthur MoonViktor Longo, and more!
