Only very few places in the East Williamsburg/Bushwick area feel currently so unwelcoming to humans such as Johnson Ave–unless, of course, you’re a human in a loud heavy cement truck.

However, based on the amount of real estate gossip we’ve been hearing lately, it seems that the way we see Johnson Ave now, may drastically change in the future. At least two (really exciting) businesses are moving in (we will disclose more details as soon as we can), and will be neighbors to Signal Gallery and The Active Space. In that vein, the news about 333 Johnson Ave being purchased by developers for retail and office purposes seems to only confirm our assumptions.

Yesterday, Brownstoner reported that a group of three developers purchased a three-acre industrial site at 333 Johnson Ave for $26,750,000 and plans to turn it into a “creative community” with stores, restaurants and office space. The building is scheduled to be completed in early 2016 and tenants should have access as soon as in late 2015.

The development counts with  100,000 square feet of office space; 60,000 square feet of retail space and 40,000 square feet of outdoor space. The developer plans to include space for “artisanal food production,” wrote Brownstoner.

No plans have been filed for the site and the renderings are purely conceptual.
