The Districts are what you wish your high school garage band grew up to be: genre-bending rock, jam-packed with electrifying soul and funk.  The shockingly young band members produce full-grown sounds – and they’re getting noticed for it. The group smoothly navigates and blends indie rock, blues, folk, soul, funk  to generate a robust, unique genre that will win over fans of The Alabama Shakes and The Smart Brothers.  Lead singer/guitarist Robby Grote croons vocals in  styles from delicate and raspy to heart-wrenchingly gruff. Sexy and smokey, indeed. Bandmates Mark Larson, Connor Jacobus and Braden Lawrence provide constant guitar riffs and swelling cymbal-crashes, while the surprise harmonicas, banjos, fiddles, and piano keys tucked intermittently make every track a treat.

The Districts will be rocking out at Baby’s All Right this Thursday for the release of their self-titled EP with Fat Possum. The collection is a repackaging of their 2012 self-released debut, Telephone, but includes three remastered tracks and two spankin’ new additions. Yee-haw.
