The L train continues to break our hearts. Just when we think we’re free of the L train’s merciless August grip, it pulls a fast one on us. That’s right – your disrupted late night commutes to/from Brooklyn will live on for at least another two weekends.

During the weekends (11:45pm Friday until 5am Monday) of September 6 – 9 and September 13 – 16 there will be no L trains operating between Lorimer St. and Myrtle-Wyckoff Aves. However, service between Lorimer St. and 8th Ave as well as between Rockaway Pkwy and Myrtle-Wyckoff will be left unaffected. As usual, the MTA offers a free shuttle bus to provide alternate service between the affected stations. So far the MTA has not released any information regarding to what is causing these service changes and if they will happen frequently in the future.

Between the M train’s previous months-long renovations and the current L train’s dodgy weekend service it seems that eastern Brooklynites cannot catch a break. Since the L train can be quite the fickle friend be sure to check the MTA website for all up to date service changes.
