There’s something cooking at Montana’s Trail House and it isn’t just their chicken and waffles or glazed pig tails. Bushwick Daily got wind of secret plans.

And by secret plans, we mean Montana’s is turning into a bar called Hard Time Harvey’s.

The restaurant, known for its rustic appearance and southern cuisine a few blocks from the Jefferson Street stop at 445 Troutman St., will be closing temporarily from Dec. 17-Jan. 6. For the rest of January, they will only be open for weekend brunch.

According to owner Montana Masback, “something new will emerge” in February.

“It’s going to be a neighborhood bar, just like the ones we all grew up with,” Masback told Bushwick Daily in an email.

“We’re taking all the things that we do well with us, Brunch, Burgers and Good Drinks + slapping atop tons of cheap cans, a Juke Box, a whole New Menu, booths, [and] Arcade Games,” Masback wrote.

If Montana’s plans are as big as all those capital letters, it should be a good time.
