Color Me Greens Brings Healthy Food to Bushwick-Ridgewood Border

In the name of Bushwick foodism, we sometimes pretend to be blind to that oil dripping from our Monte Cristo sandwich, or to the fact that that home-made chocolate mousse has more calories than we can possibly burn in two weeks.  But with summer on its way, it's not only time to commit to at least three Bushwick oddball fitness classes a week, but also to start eating healthy.

Lucky for us and our beach bodies, Jason McBryde, a native Brooklynite and a current resident of Bayside Queens, is opening Color Me Greens (1522 Myrtle Ave) close to Bushwick-Ridgewood border, and promises nothing but deliciously healthy food.

Color Me Greens, slated to open on May 10, will bring a menu full of fresh organic juices and smoothies, salads and wraps as well as paninis.

Color Me Greens Menu

"A friend of mine has a location in Dobbs Ferry called Mix on Main. I enjoyed the food so much that I partnered with him to use the menu. I added protein shakes and Quesadillas to the Bushwick menu," Jason explained.

And so we're psyched for an abundant selection of make-your-own salads ($6.99); protein bowls ($7-9) as well as build-your-own juices (from $4.50). Color Me Greens promises a great, healthy and affordable lunch option in the area off the Myrtle Wyckoff Ave L train stop, which is a great location for its foot traffic as well as proximity to several gyms, Jason added.

Color Me Greens is opening on May 10.

When asked to name his favorite item on the menu, Jason named at least ten times adding that he is, naturally, biased: " My favorite juice is the Pure Power. I love the Joan Capone Panini. I love anything with grilled veggies. The Tiffer Panini (grilled steak, pepper jack cheese and onions) is the most popular in the Dobbs Ferry location. Everyone must try the Sweet Potato Burger made with chick peas, broccoli and honey...." And the list goes on...

So don't forget: Color Me Greens opens on May 10 at 1522 Myrtle Ave, Bushwick.
