While Bushwick is known for good inexpensive Mexican food, the absence of an upscale Mexican restaurant has meant that while you will find undeniable authentic Mexican fare, you’ll probably be eating your snack while standing in a Bodega. Thankfully, for well over a year Mesa Azteca has been providing local foodies with the opportunity to eat truly inventive Mexican food in an inviting atmosphere of colorful lanterns, tiled tabletops and a patio that makes one long for warm summer nights where you can idle over fresh fruit Margaritas and inexpensive tacos that are neatly wrapped in paper and generously stuffed with fresh fish, guacamole, and pickled onions.
