A former MTA bus driver was found stabbed to death in his Bushwick home Tuesday.

Police responded to a call at 4:30 p.m. and found 46-year-old Otis James unconscious and unresponsive in his apartment at 494 Central Ave., bleeding from a stab wound in his torso. EMS pronounced James deceased at the scene, according to authorities.

James was a retired MTA bus driver who was wheelchair-bound after being shot on vacation in another country, according to other reports.

Police have not released any information about a possible suspect, but the case has been ruled a homicide.

“This is tragic news, and our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. James’ family,” Transit Authority President Andy Byford said in a statement.

James was a bus operator from 2005 until May of 2017, when he retired on disability.
