From May 5-22, St. Brigid's Church on Linden Street in Bushwick is offering residents a chance to get an IDNYC Card.

IDNYC, the free identification card introduced early this year by Mayor Bill de Blasio. It gives New Yorkers discounted admission to museums, concerts, and attractions - even a 5% discount at Food Bazaar. It also allows many undocumented residents to have a government-issued photo identification card.

City council members lobbied for a pop-up ID center in Bushwick and got one at St. Brigid's. They're looking for a more permanent space to have ID appointments, but for now, you can sign up from May 18-22 at the church bordering Bushwick and Ridgewood. Appointments are limited and go fast, so book ASAP. Currently, there are only three other IDNYC locations in Brooklyn - Grand Army Plaza, Sunset Park, and Coney Island.

“The IDNYC card is not just about increasing access to government services, cultural benefits, and valuable discounts – it is a program that unites all of us as New Yorkers, regardless of our immigration status,” said Nisha Agarwal, the Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs. “I am thrilled to work with the local elected officials to bring an IDNYC pop-up center to St. Brigid’s in North Brooklyn.”

St. Brigid Church will host IDNYC appointments through May 22 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments can be made by visiting their website.
