Kings County is bringing back their monthly Body Rock dance party with DJs Rabbi Darkness and hip hop emcee IllSpokinn spinning old school classics and B-sides all night. Dance battle on the hardwood included.

#8 The Brain-Cave Festival @ Baby’s All Right, 146 Broadway, Williamsburg (SAT/SUN 7-11:00PM, $12-20)

NYC Curator Cara Bella has assembled Holy Sons, Wild Yaks, Invisible Familiars, Lichean and a slew of other Brooklyn artists to create an experimental theatrical piece that blurs genres and realities. Each segment is perfectly timed out and will include visuals from Drippy Productions.

#7 Pinegrove, Happy You, stumpf, Paper Streets @ Palisades, 906 Broadway, Bushwick (FRI 7:30PM, $5)

Pinegrove‘s lingering vocals and woeful lyrics will have you signing Xs and Os in your high school notebook.

#6 Yelawolf @ Rough Trade, 64 N 9th Street, Williamsburg (FRI 7PM, $FREE)

Southern rapper and Eminem protgee Yelawolf isn’t too big for us yet! Catch an album signing and live performance to celebrate his newest release Love Story.

#5 Violet Sands, Phasing of a Desert Moon: Part 1 @ Lot 45, 411 Troutman Street, Bushwick (THURS 8:30PM, $FREE)

Super groups make the world go round and Violent Sands is the new musical project of musicians Deidre Muro (Savoir Adore, Deidre & the Dark), David Perlick-Molinari (French Horn Rebellion) and Derek Muro (Love Like Deloreans, Mighty Five). Thursday’s show is the first in a series where the group creates new wave soundtracks for futuristic desert journeys.

#4 Moss Icon, Guerilla Toss, Beech Creeps, Multicults, Voice Coils @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar, 165 Banker St, Williamsburg (FRI 7pm, $FREE)

Brooklyn Night Bazaar continues its booking of consistently good (and surprising) lineups  with post-hardcore punk band Moss Icon complemented by dance-punkers, Guerilla Toss and the harmonious and aptly-named, Voice Coils. Fingers crossed for an on-stage duet.

#3 Palm, Washer, The Gradients, Flagland @ Palisades, 906 Broadway (SAT 7:30PM, $5)

Happy Birthday Palisades! Has it really been one year? Celebrate their rockversary with a beautiful showcase of local, emerging bands. Get there early, this one is sure to sell out.
