End your summer on the right note by attending one of these great shows:

Wednesday, Aug. 28

Sunwatchers, James Brandon Lewis Trio, Ornament at The Glove, 8 p.m.

The end of an era is approaching, as beloved Bushwick D.I.Y. staple The Glove is sadly closing its doors at the end of the month.  Don’t miss out on one of the last opportunities to see live music in its hallowed halls, as experimental rockers and venue regulars Sunwatchers will have brand new Hausu Mountain live tapes for sale.

Free Jazz saxophonist James Brandon Lewis will also be performing as a trio (check out his incredible new album An Unruly Manifesto), as will Ornament, the experimental project of Joe Denardo.

Thursday, Aug. 29

The Natvral, Nicole Yun, Honeycutt, Bloom at Our Wicked Lady, 6:30 p.m.

Esteemed local label Kanine Records is showcasing some of their top acts at Our Wicked Lady on Thursday night. It’s all going down on one of the best spots to catch a summertime show, Our Wicked Lady’s rooftop!

The lineup features The Natvral (Kip Berman of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart) and Nicole Yun, who both recently released excellent new solo music on Kanine Records, Boston indie-pop trio Honey Cutt, and Canadians  Bloom.

Friday, Aug. 30

Star 80, Matthew Danger Lippman, Holy Wisdom, Trash TV at Trans-Pecos, 7 p.m.

Locals Star 80 are celebrating the release of their debut EP on Friday at Trans-Pecos. The band previously shared the lead single, “San Bernardino,” a gnarled and intimate lo-fi gem that’ll pique your curiosity.

Matthew Danger Lippman, who packs a similarly charming style of indie-pop, is also performing, along with Holy Wisdom, who will blow you away with their self-described brand of “Illuminati-pop.”  Trash TV, who kicked off the summer with their furious second single, “Tongues,” will open the show.

Saturday, Aug. 31

Gustaf, Cat Scan, Patti at The Broadway, 8 p.m.

Art-punk superstars Gustaf have had quite the eventful summer, as they’re gigging constantly, and even got to play a secret warehouse show curated by Beck and Cage The Elephant in Greenpoint. Though Beck most likely won’t  be at The Broadway this Saturday, Cat Scan, who play a manic brand of punk, are in town from Los Angeles.

You’ll also be treated to the sounds of one of Brooklyn’s most promising post-punk acts, Patti. For a sampling of their live show bravado, check out their latest cassette, which captures a raucous 12-song set performed live on WNYU’s Crucial Chaos radio program.
