Shake off those post-holiday weekend blues by injecting some live music into your week. Here are some of the best shows going on this week:

Wednesday, May 29

Warm Bodies, TAZ, Church Clothes, Devil’s Dildo at The Glove, 8 p.m.

Beloved Bushwick DIY institution, The Glove, announced over the weekend that they’ll be ceasing operations in September after an incredible three-year run. Since we only have a few months left of this great space, make sure you enjoy it while you can starting with this Wednesday’s gig, which features Kansas City’s experiment rockers Warm Bodies, local hardcore outfit Church Clothes, TAZ, and Devil’s Dildo.

Thursday, May 30

Las Rosas, Beechwood, Bloom at The Broadway, 8 p.m.

The Broadway, Bushwick’s newest music venue, is wasting no time putting together some of the best lineups in the neighborhood. Look no further than this Thursday’s show, which features psychedelic-pop trio Las Rosas and the inimitable Beechwood.

Beechwood made waves last year with their second album, Songs From The Land Of The Nod, while Las Rosas will be celebrating the release of their newest EP, Day Sleeper, which drops this week on Greenway Records. Opening the show is Bloom, a relatively new fuzz-heavy experimental rock four-piece.

Friday, May 31

L7, Le Butcherettes at Elsewhere, 8 p.m.

Grunge legends L7 just released their first album in 20 years, Scatter The Rats, on May 3 and by all accounts, the Los Angeles group hasn’t lost a step. Scatter The Rats possesses the same raw energy, tenacity, and grit that put L7 on the map back in the ’90s. Mexican garage punk Le Butcherettes will get the show going promptly at 8 p.m at the iconic Elsewhere space.

Saturday, June 1

T-Rextasy, TC Superstar, Sylbie Shade at Trans-Pecos, 8 p.m.

T-Rextasy kicked off 2019 by releasing their highly anticipated second album, Prehysteria. Though it was only available on cassette upon its initial release, the band recently pressed a limited number of vinyl copies, so pick up a copy of this standout album while you still can.

Austin’s TC Superstar are passing through New York as part of a month-long tour in support of their latest album, R&D, which was just released on May 16. It’s jammed packed with energetic, synth-driven songs that’ll make you want to move. The lo-fi bedroom pop stylings of Sylbie Shade will open the show, all at Ridgewood’s beloved Trans-Pecos.
