Tom Gallo is the host of Look At My Records! on Radio Free Brooklyn.

It’s finally feeling like spring, so get out to one of the below shows this week and enjoy yourself! This list even includes a rooftop gig for maximum nice weather enjoyment:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22

Adeline, Life On Planets at C’mon Everybody, 8 p.m.

If you haven’t made it out to Adeline’s residency at C’mon Everybody yet, don’t fret! You still have one more chance! The disco-soul queen wraps up her month-long stint at the venue on Wednesday before heading off for two gigs in Japan next week. For the final show at C’mon Everybody, Adeline will be joined by Life On Planets, a Baltimore-based house/nu-disco duo.

THURSDAY, MAY 23

Tula Vera, Shred Flintstone, Diva Lotto, Snowyard at Trans-Pecos, 8 p.m.

Trans-Pecos will be injected with a bit Jersey flavor on Thursday night, as the venue welcomes two DIY mainstays from the Garden State, Tula Vera and Shred Flintstone. Tula Vera stands out for their talent and lively take on a more traditional blues-driven classic rock sound that blends a wide array of influences including garage, punk, and soul. Shred Flintstone has attracted a lot of attention for their incredible name, but the power trio also boasts some songwriting chops, as evidenced by the fuzzy licks on the 2018 full-length, They’re Not There. Diva Lotto is also in the bill, along with local fuzz-folk duo Snowyard, who will get the show going promptly at 8!

FRIDAY, MAY 24

Left Bank Magazine 5th Anniversary Party: Poppies, New Myths, Gesserit, Animal Show, Fat Heaven at Our Wicked Lady, 7 p.m.

Kick off your Memorial Day weekend by celebrating Left Bank Magazine fifth anniversary on the rooftop of Our Wicked Lady! The publication is pulling out all the stops for their birthday this year, as they’ve put together an absolutely stacked lineup. Poppies and New Myths are both riding into the summer with some hot new releases! Poppies released their second EP Bed Music earlier this year and New Myths shared their ultra-fierce new single, “One Good Reason,” last month. Vamanos and Animal Show are a one-two Punch of raucous garage rock, and Fat Heaven will open the show with their own brand of hooky pop-punk.

SATURDAY, MAY 25

Akinyemi, Nic Hanson, Thomas at Elsewhere, 8 p.m.

Nigerian rapper Akinyemi has been hailed for his honest, heartfelt verses and unique sampling that’s earned comparisons to Queens hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest. His latest single, “In My Bag,” dropped earlier this month and features a series of smooth verses. Also performing are multi-disciplinary artist and teenage phenom, Thomas, and soul-pop musician, Nic Hanson.
