Out in the Streets Music Fest Takes Over the Nabe This Weekend! — Music and Nightlife on Bushwick Daily

Out in the Streets Music Fest Takes Over the Nabe This Weekend!

The annual festival near the Bushwick/Ridgewood border always pleases with up-and-coming acts, great food, and great fun.

The annual Out in the Streets Festival is coming to the grounds of the historic Onderdonk House this weekend. The two hot, humid, and sunny days will feature live music, food from Bushwick favorites, and shopping for when you're all danced out.

The 20 bands performing this weekend provide a pleasant mix of the weird, noisy, alt-y, synthy, and poppy. Saturday's headliners, The So So Glos, will have you stomping your feet to hyper-literate songs featuring driving punk guitars. Sunday's Frankie Rose, on the other hand, will leave you in a harmony-fueled daze. Other notable acts include Softspot, EZTV, Future Punx, and Weekender.

Ridgewood Market will be there selling wares from the usual cast of local artists and designers. Talking Walls will curate the art, and Leon Reid IV, a public art behemoth, will create a sculpture from used beer cans. It's sure to be a sensory overload in the best of ways.

One and two day passes are still available through the Out in the Streets website. For a festival, they just might be the best deal in town.
