After six successful years at Citi Field and Arthur Ashe Stadium, the NYC Bacon and Beer Classic is finally coming to Bushwick’s Brooklyn Mirage on June 8, unveiling the ultimate feast of all-you-can-eat gourmet bacon dishes from 30 local restaurants, and unlimited drinks from a selection of 100+ craft beers.

The Bacon and Beer Classic began in 2013, touring sports stadiums throughout the country in major cities like San Francisco, Chicago, and more. According to Molly Jennings, Bacon and Beer’s head of marketing and a Brooklyn local, the strategic shift from New York sports stadiums to the Brooklyn Mirage reflects a variety of reasons: “Not only is Brooklyn great because it’s home to a younger audience, but we most importantly wanted to bring more of a musical element to the event—which is tough at stadiums. The Brooklyn Mirage is perfect for that with live music all day with a summer backyard BBQ feel.”

Catering to the millennial crowd, Saved by the ‘90s–– a five-piece band you may have heard playing at the Brooklyn Bowl––will be covering classic hits from the decade in the outdoor patio, while a brass band will give some New Orleans flavor, and local DJs will take over the decks on “The Bacon Strip,” a path filled with delicious treats, a mechanical bull, a bacon seesaw, and other bacon inspired activities.

Similar to other festivals, there are a few different ticket options: General Admission, General Admission Plus, and VIP.

For $69, GA offers access to all the live performances, and activities on the grounds, but most importantly, three hours of unlimited unique bacon dishes, and all-you-can-drink from the extensive craft beer selection.

For $95, GA Plus matches all of regular GA’s perks with one key distinguisher: one-hour early festival access before GA members.

Lastly, for $119, VIP ticket holders get: exclusive access to the Mirage’s terrace and the beautiful views that come with it, a tasty traditional whole-pig roast, and a private bar ran by Brooklyn’s own, Collective Arts Brewery. VIP also gets to watch and participate as tasters in the grand bacon battles, where three NYC chefs “dish it out” for the most delicious bacon creation.

For those who think that all that bacon can be overwhelming, according to Jennings, shortly before the event, an app will be released with an interactive map of the venue, detailing the activities and offerings of each room to simplify the day for bacon-lovers.

“Brooklyn is exciting! I mean.. I live here so I may be biased,” said and luaghed Jennings about the new location. “But it’s the sixth year [of the Bacon and Beer Classic] and the hype hasn’t died so I think the Brooklyn Mirage will be a great way to kick off the summer!”
