June means summer and a whole lot of pride month parties all over New York City. The highlight is the huge pride march in Manhattan every year, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a variety of local events to consider. 

Here are a few in Ridgewood and Bushwick: 


Rubies in the Rough at The Deep End 

Saturday June 23, 10 p.m. The Deep End, 1080 Wyckoff Ave, Ridgewood, $10 

Reigning it drag queen it girl Ruby Fox is going to show off her killer moves at this weekend. She’ll be inviting fellow performers like Bella Moon and Magenta to keep the party going all night long. Look forward to a lot of stomping, sashaying, and lip syncing.

Hot Rabbit’s Bad Habit Pride: Official Dyke March Afterparty at Lot 45

Saturday June 23, 10 p.m. Lot 45, 411 Troutman St. Bushwick, $20

Go crazy after this weekend’s official Dyke March with a dance party complete with voguing, a life DJ, and go-go dancers. There will also be several performers from the House of Olympus performing that night.  


Kunst Pride at Elsewhere

Sunday June 24, 3 p.m. Elsewhere, 599 Johnson Ave. Bushwick, $35 

Use Sunday morning to recover from Saturday’s festivities and then go to an afternoon dance party on Elsewhere’s rooftop. Be sure to pace yourself because it’s going to be a night of amazing DJs including Horrorchata, Mazurbate, and Eli Escobar.  


Pride Mister Sunday at Nowadays

Sunday June 24, 3 p.m. Nowadays, 56-06 Cooper Ave. Ridgewood, $20

Nowadays weekly Mister Sunday party is handing the reigns aka deck over to Ciel and DJ Python for a pride celebration this weekend. All are welcome to this awesome summer dance party, and 10 percent of profits will go to the Ali Forney Center to help homeless LGBTQ youth. If you RSVP and arrive before 5 p.m., it’ll cost $15, but it’ll be $20 to party afterwards.
