Police are on the lookout for a man who snatched a phone through a Bushwick window during the 4th of July holiday weekend, and have released video footage and a still of the individual suspected of the crime.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, July 3rd, when the man was able to reach in through a window to grab the phone, which belonged to a 33-year-old male victim, by standing on an overturned bucket outside an apartment building near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Wilson Avenue.

After grabbing the phone, the suspect fled southbound down Jefferson Street.

The suspect is described as male and black and appeared to be 18 to 25 years old, and about 5’7″ and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green hooded sweater and dark colored sweatpants.

The incident is one of 32 burglaries that have taken place in the 83rd precinct in the past 28 days, 18 of which occurred in homes during daytime hours—compared to 43 burglaries that took place in the precinct during the same time period last year, according to NYPD records.

Among the recent burglaries is the incidents in which a man raped a Bushwick woman in her home in the early hours of Monday morning.
