Here are our picks for this week's must see events:

Sean Nicholas Savage, Video Program at Market Hotel

Wednesday May 30th at 7 p.m.

Since it’s return to operations in late 2017, Market Hotel continues to bring a wide array of great performances.  Wednesday night features Canadian singer-songwriter and “madclap philosopher” Sean Nicholas Savage. Savage headlines a bill that also features Video Program, the moniker for visual artist and musician, Julian Bozeman.

Video Program’s performances feature several TVs with curated videos and images, while Bozeman performs alongside side these visuals. Coupled with Savage’s masterful songcraft and unrivaled stage presence, this double bill is sure to be a great one to get the summer season started.

Navy Gangs, Poppies, and Dan English at Trans Pecos

Thursday May 31st at 8 p.m.

Thursday night at Trans Pecos features a triple bill of jangle pop goodness! Navy Gangs were recently featured as one of Paste Magazine’s “15 Young NYC Bands You Should Know,” and are about to embark on a nationwide tour in support of their debut LP, “Poach,” which is slated for release on August 3rd.

Fresh off a 2017 that saw the release of their excellent debut EP “Good” on Topshelf Records, Poppies continue to bring their mesmerizing hooks and jangly guitars to their live performances.  Dan English, the guitarist for Porches, rounds out this triple bill with a solo performance.

Bodega, Public Pratice, Pill, and Eaters at Sunnyvale

Friday June 1st at 8 p.m.

Bodega is quickly becoming one of the area’s most promising bands, as their driven, post-punk influence sound and their engaging live shows has garnered them both local and national recognition.

On June 1st at Sunnyvale, the group will release their hotly anticipated debut LP “Endless Scroll” via What’s Your Rupture?, and they’ll be celebrating at Sunnyvale on the same night.

Joining in for the festivities are local noise rockers, Pill, who recently released a Live at Third Man Records 7” this past February, the danceable Public Practice, and synth-punk duo Eaters.

Sego, Nation of Language, Teen Commandments at Elsewhere

Saturday June 2nd at 6:30 p.m.

Los Angeles based dream pop duo, Sego are in town with support from local favorites Nation of Language and Teen Commandments.  The synth-y, new wave inspired Nation of Language saw their stock significantly rise in 2018, as they were recruited to open for The Wombats for a nationwide tour.  The catchy, dance pop of Teen Commandments are sure to get your body moving to start out this show.
