FRIDAY: The Blacklist / KAMAU

8-11 p.m. at Secret Project Robot, 1186 Broadway.

Inspired by historical and highly politicized Black artists and the unjust, forced social and professional silencing of their careers, Maleek Washington's The Blacklist is a mystery collaboration of working Black artists who reclaim the blacklist to be a haven for desirable and politicized collective production.

The immersive performance work is conceptually driven by Washington and actualized by artists Alexeya, ColemanCollective, Chet Gold, Matthew Perez, Antonio Brown, and Emma Pfaeffle. These artists are blindly paired to perform works that function as a thought-provoking dialogue across a fusion of artistic disciplines.

The night concludes with a set by rapper Kamau.

Admission: $20
